No On 1240 - Top Points for Voters to Consider

No On 1240 is a grassroots group of volunteer parents and citizen education advocates who are united to defeat I-1240 that would introduce charter schools to Washington State. 

The best investment Washington State can make is fully-funding our existing schools and that is where the public education focus should be, not on so-called "public charter schools."

Initiative 1240 and charter schools would have ramifications, impacts and costs for Washington that would ultimately hurt schools and taxpayers.

I-1240 Charter schools:

• Will not close the achievement gap in our state
• Will result in funding losses to districts and schools
• Increases education spending at the state level for administrative work that takes money out of the classroom
• Will be a costly distraction for our Washington State that will not bring better academic outcomes
• Taxpayer money is the only thing "public" about "public charter schools."
